A warm, supportive space for you—no matter where you are in your health or caregiving journey.
If any of this feels familiar, you’re exactly where you need to be. You don’t have to navigate this by yourself.
My Approach
For more than two decades, I’ve sat with individuals and families during some of the hardest moments of their lives—moments filled with fear, confusion, hope, and deep questions about identity, health, illness, dying, and caregiving.
My goal is always the same: to help you feel seen, supported, and understood as you make sense of what’s happening in your life.
My Professional Background
I’ve been a social worker for 23 years, working in hospital settings including the ICU, CCU, medical-surgical units, and emergency rooms. Over time, I discovered a calling to end-of-life work and moved into hospice social work, where I supported individuals and families through incredibly meaningful transitions.
My passion for this work led me to complete a PhD in Social Work with a focus on:
• Aging
• Oncology
• End of life
• Palliative care
• Care transitions
I was honored to receive full support from the American Cancer Society in the form of an $80,000 doctoral training grant—an experience that deepened my commitment to compassionate, evidence‑based care. I’ve also spent 15 years as a college professor teaching medical social work, gerontology, and death and dying courses. My work has included time at the Tulane Center for Aging within the School of Medicine, and I currently teach and facilitate an End-of-Life Doula Certificate program at the University of New England. All of these experiences shape the way I show up for clients today—with deep knowledge, steady presence, and genuine compassion.
How I Support Clients Today
In my counseling practice, I help individuals and couples navigate:
• Serious, chronic, and terminal illnesses
• Caregiving stress and burnout
• End-of-life concerns
• Identity and role changes
• Emotional overwhelm during health crises
You deserve a space where all of this can be talked about openly and safely—and where your emotional well-being is treated with the same importance as your physical health.
Support for Couples
Illness and caregiving don’t happen in isolation—they affect the entire partnership. These challenges can shift roles, disrupt communication, and resurface long-standing stress in a relationship.
I use the Gottman Method Couples Therapy to help couples:
• Improve communication
• Strengthen emotional connection
• Rebuild friendship and respect
• Navigate uncertainty as a team
Whether you’re the partner who is ill or the one who is caregiving, both voices matter. Both experiences deserve care.
